Welcome to Tempo Tantrums, the blog that documents the Yale Music Scene (formally called “Yale Music Scene,” no kidding). Music today is a hot mess—genres are blurry, “good” music struggles to be “accessible,” technology is expanding possibilities but comes with warning labels. Yale musicians don’t get enough recognition and are angsty. People who like music (srsly, who doesn’t?) don’t know what concerts to go to or where they can download that hot EP from whatsthatbandsnamethatopenedatspringfling? That’s where I come in.
I’m going to be previewing concerts, reviewing new music and commenting on music culture at Yale. Turns out there’s a whole bunch of talented musicians on this campus normal people who like music don’t know about (even normal people who have facebook). This is a problem it’s time to fix.
